İtalya’nın Toskana Bölgesi’ni hepiniz tanıyorsunuz. Bugün Toskana Bölgesi’nde bildiğiniz  şehirlerin dışında bir yere davet ediyorum sizi. Cortona, “Under the Tuscan Sun” isimli film ile adını duyurmuş bu küçük güzel şehir gerçekten keşfetmeye değer muhteşem güzellikte bir yer. Hala gelmediyseniz ve bir Toskana gezisi planlıyorsanız size bir tavsiyede bulunmak istiyorum. Facebook’ta Chianina & Syrah isimli sayfadan önümüzdeki seneki edisyonun ne zaman olduğunu takip edip “Chianina & Syrah”  dana eti ve  kırmızı şarap festivalinde gelin buraya. İnanın tadı damağınızda kalacak, kartpostal güzelliğindeki bu temiz hava, sanat ve güleryüzlü insanlarla dolu Cortona, filmdeki başrol oyuncusu Diane Lane kadar sizi kendine aşık edicek.

Chianina çok kaliteli bir tür kırmızı et, Syrah ise muhteşem bir bağ özellikle 2000’li yıllardan itibaren Cortona’da yetiştirilmeye başlanmış bir üzüm türü ve muhteşem kırmızı şarapların da adı. Üreticiler yaşadıkları yeri o kadar seviyorlar ki bu sevgi yaptıkları şaraba da yansımış.

I know you all know Cortona because you all have read the book or/and seen the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”, the movie is made from the same novel of Frances Mayes who now lives in Cortona (a very lovely lady- she was there for the event). Well in order to experience what i am trying to say, you should definitely go to Cortona, i won’t say go as soon as you can i’ll say you go there when you know when the next edition of “Chianina & Syrah” is next year. It’s a magnificent series of events that invite you to eat Chianina (the best red meat type you can ever eat) and to drink Syrah (a marvelous type of red wine-which will make you change to Cortona Syrah forever, if already haven’t done so) with reasonable prices.  Created by Vittorio Camorri this event is a great combination of italian excellence. I loved everybody i met in Cortona, later on i will tell you about a great lady Stefania Mezzetti and her excellent wines (for now i give you two words Principe and Dardano both Doc Cortona-you will love them!).I’ve been to Cortona in the last week of march for “Chianina & Syrah” and i had one of he best times of my life. People were very friendly and nice, Cortona is easy to reach from most cities by train or car and they make the best steaks and the best wine in Tuscany.

If you are a wine lover and meat eater please go to Cortona, you will thank me for suggestion i am sure.

Chianina & Syrah is an excellent organization, Cortona is full of beautiful places to stay from lovely affordable bed&breakfasts to luxury resorts suitable for all types of bugdets. If you plan in advance you have a variety of choice. In Cortona you will have the best “wine and meat” experience of your life while discovering great views and art. It’s a place not only that is worth seeing, but it’s a must see place worth living. I fell in love with Cortona and will definitely go back as soon as i can. You will understand what i mean when you go to Cortona.

Chianina is a soft and delicious type of meat that doesn’t need neither salt nor oil that will just melt in your mouth as soon as you take one bite.

Syrah is an elegant wine with great taste, i had the opportunity to meet some of the “Cortona Syrah” producers during the festival from their passion you understand why the wine tastes that good. You should give it a try! You’ll love it!

And till you go to Cortona, you can start by tasting Cortona Syrah if already haven’t by now. This wine will be a great company for your special meal times.
